- 12 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or your choice)
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Meat Sauce: In a skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is soft. Stir in the tomato sauce, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta and meat sauce. Mix well to coat the pasta.
- Layer with Cheese: Transfer half of the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Layer the remaining pasta mixture on top and finish with the remaining cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and enjoy hot!
