Instructions

STEP 1: COOK THE PASTA

Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Once cooked, reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set it aside.

STEP 2: SAUTÉ THE ONIONS AND GARLIC

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent. Then, add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

STEP 3: ADD THE MUSHROOMS

Next, add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are browned and have released their moisture. Season with salt, pepper, and dried Italian herbs to enhance the flavors.
